Keep Grass From Sticking with Cooking Spray?
We have been asked this question more than we care to think about it and have seen it a few times on the net. As matter of fact we have even seen it on some of those “We’re Expert Sites” Now we mean no offense to ConAgra Foods, they make a great product and I am sure if you ask them it, they will tell you that it just wasn’t designed as a spray to prevent grass build up under your mower deck. An being a upstanding corporate giant I’m sure they will not stop you for using it, heck it means more sales.
Let’s look at this from a common sense view.
Oil and water don’t mix – we all remember this one, but does that apply to our mover, possibly. Sometimes the grass has dew in it, so you could say the cooking spray will keep the moisture away from the deck. That’s a good thing right, but wait what about all that dust that is mixing in with the oil, wearing it off, turning other parts in to gooey mess, trapping dew and moisture that’s in the grass clippings with it! What about the grass clippings wiping the cooking oil off? Ever look at the oil that comes out of your car – yuck!
This is the one I think of – When is the last time you had a salad and put dressing on it? Do you remember what happens, the salad sticks to the bowl, so looking at this from a common sense approach do you really think cooking spray is the way to go? Do you really want to clean your lawn mower deck each time before you use it, spray some cooking oil on it and then go cut the grass??? I didn’t think so…
With CLEAN DECK Graphite you clean the deck at the start of the season, paint it using a quart can, giving it two coats and go about taking care of your lawn. CLEAN DECK impregnates itself into the pours of the metal deck. As you cut the dirt and grass clippings actually burnish it in creating a smoother, more protected finish. About all you ever see is a thin layer of dust under the deck. Will you have to touch it up? Depends on how much you use the mower, but remember all that debris is like sandpaper to the underside of the deck and the high spots will wear first, so you may want to have a spray can for a little touch up if needed. Isn’t common sense a wonderful thing! Do yourself a favor and head on over the the website and order up some CLEAN DECK today. The season might be coming to an end, but thats ok you will be ready for next year. While you are at it coat your snowblower and shovels, you really be glad you did when the cold and snow arrives.
