Snow Blowers Throwers and Lawn Mower Decks

Take a look at the two pictures – They show several areas, nooks and crannies where you should apply CLEAN DECK Graphite. If you are using a new unit then roughen the painted surface to help ensure a good bond. Coat all the parts, nuts, bolts, augers, blades, wheel supports and scrapper bottoms.

The pictures here  show the decks partially coated so you can visualize it a little easier.

Preventing Snow from Sticking to your Shovel

It’s that time of the year, and everyone seems to be asking the same question.
How Do You Prevent Snow from Sticking to your Shovel?

Just do search for the above phrase and you see what I mean.  All the information out there seems to re-hash the same information over and over. I am starting to think that if you see the same thing over and over it must be true or the only way to do something. For those of you familiar with blogs, you soon realize that all you are seeing, is the same information re-posted, linked to other sites. After all there really aren’t that many sites out there which contain original content. Anyway I came across this which sums up all the other methods people are telling you to use to keep snow from sticking to your equipment. Take a look at the part I highlighted in red “Is It Worth It???”

Now if people would just coat their equipment with CLEAN DECK all of those problems would disappear. Still not convinced of the easiest way, well then do a search for Graphite Shovels and read the reviews. All the reviews are rated 5 stars. If shovels made with graphite are so good then it stands to reason that coating all your snow removal equipment with CLEAN DECK will do the same. But don’t just take my word for it, look over the website and decide for yourself. Then buy a can and try it out, it will be the easiest snow removal season you have ever had.

Now while you are it take a look at that Snow Blower, Snow Shovel and Snow Blades for your tractor or truck.
Nothing works better on this equipment than a good “two coats” of CLEAN DECK Graphite. For snow blowers coat everywhere, the blades, the discharge shoot, all the places snow comes in contact with your unit. Coat both sides of your shovels and blades. This should last you all winter season.
Snow will not stick and rust will be a thing of the past.
While everyone else is battling the snow you will be finshed hours before them, warm in your house, watching that favorite show on TV or maybe watching your neighbors still trying to clean their drives.

When it comes to Graphite = Wilmar Graphite’s CLEAN DECK has Stood the Test of Time.

How to Stop Grass Buildup Under Any Lawn Mower Deck

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Grass Buildup under a lawn mower deck is a pain. It shuts down the mower, leaves clumps of grass on the lawn, changes the air flow so grass tares instaed of cleanly cutting the grass blades and it rusts out the deck. Buildup has always been a problem until now!

Steps

  1. This Method Will Work for Old or New Mowers of Any Type.
  2. Remove all grass buildup. Clean off all loose residue and rust flakes. Use a putty knife, a wire brush scrapper and a electric drill with a wire brush attachment. You want to clean down to the metal. Prepare surface the same as you would any surface to be painted. New decks with painted surface sould be lightly sanded to create a bonding surface.
  3. If your deck is really bad as shown – then yes you have some work ahead of you. But rest assured this will be the Last Time you will ever have to work like this.
  4. Now that the deck is clean it’s time to paint it. Not with any paint but with CLEAN DECK Graphite by Wilmar graphite Company. Apply a good bonding coat to the entire underside of the mower and even the chute and allow to dry for 24 hours. This will allow the graphite to bond down to the molecular level. Apply a second coat allow it to dry for 6 hours. Now you are ready to go out and mow grass. You find the mower glides over the lawn even in high spots. When you look at underside you will see a thin layer of dust, just rinse it with a hose, don’t worry it’s protected.
  5. Graphite can be applied to metal, plastic, wood, concrete or most other surfaces to provide a Dry Slippery Surface that will not run, freeze, attract dirt, retard rust or wash off. Applying two coats ensures optimal performance of treated equipment by creating a Smooth Non-Stick Finish that Eliminates Clogging and Reduces Friction.
  6. Graphite is natural occurring in nature – so it is environmentally friendly.
  7. Each time you mow with your deck coated with CLEAN DECK Graphite the dust, debris and grass clippings burnish in the graphite for longer lubrication. Check your mower and if needed rinse the dust off underside with a hose.
  8. At the end of the season apply a fresh coat of CLEAN DECK Graphite and perform all other maintanence.

Tips

  • People have suggested cooking spray every time you mow – well read this.
  • Sometimes the grass has dew in it, so you could say the cooking spray will keep the moisture away from the deck. That’s a good thing right, but wait what about all that dust that is mixing in with the oil, wearing it off, turning other parts in to gooey mess, trapping dew and moisture that’s in the grass clippings with it! What about the grass clippings wiping the cooking oil off? Ever look at the oil that comes out of your car – yuck! This is the one I think of – When is the last time you had a salad and put dressing on it? Do you remember what happens, the salad sticks to the bowl, so looking at this from a common sense approach do you really think cooking spray is the way to go? Do you really want to clean your lawn mower deck each time before you use it, spray some cooking oil on it and then go cut the grass??? I didn’t think so…
  • Use a spray on bed linner – It is designed to create a rough surface that will act just like an untreated deck causing buildup and adding weight to the mower. No the way to go.

Keep Grass From Sticking with Cooking Spray?

org can 126x150 Keep Grass From Sticking with Cooking Spray? We have been asked this question more than we care to think about it and have seen it a few times on the net. As matter of fact we have even seen it on some of those “We’re Expert Sites” Now we mean no offense to ConAgra Foods, they make a great product and I am sure if you ask them it, they will tell you that it just wasn’t designed as a spray to prevent grass build up under your mower deck. An being a upstanding corporate giant I’m sure they will not stop you for using it, heck it means more sales.

Let’s look at this from a common sense view.
Oil and water don’t mix – we all remember this one, but does that apply to our mover, possibly. Sometimes the grass has dew in it, so you could say the cooking spray will keep the moisture away from the deck.

Do you really want to clean your lawn mower deck each time before you use it, spray some cooking oil on it and then go cut the grass??? I didn’t think so…

cdcanspray 150x150 Keep Grass From Sticking with Cooking Spray? With CLEAN DECK Graphite you clean the deck at the start of the season, paint it using a quart can, giving it two coats and go about taking care of your lawn. CLEAN DECK impregnates itself into the pours of the metal deck. As you cut the dirt and grass clippings actually burnish it in creating a smoother, more protected finish. About all you ever see is a thin layer of dust under the deck. Will you have to touch it up? Depends on how much you use the mower, but remember all that debris is like sandpaper to the underside of the deck and the high spots will wear first, so you may want to have a spray can for a little touch up if needed. Isn’t common sense a wonderful thing! Do yourself a favor and head on over the the website and order up some CLEAN DECK today. The season might be coming to an end, but thats ok you will be ready for next year. While you are at it coat your snowblower and shovels, you really be glad you did when the cold and snow arrives.
